Short Story Translation
I recently translated (Spanish into English) a 450-word short story titled The Bird and the Wheel for an award-winning Cuban SF writer called Ángel Arango.
For those not familiar with Ángel — and, until recently, I numbered myself among these — he is considered one of Cuba’s leading writers of SF, with numerous short stories and novels published in his native land, as well as Spain, Mexico, Argentina, and other Latin American countries.
Since he's eager to accumulate the necessary sales to qualify for SFWA membership, I'm in the process of submitting it to the appropriate venues.
Ellen Datlow at SciFi.com rejected it for not complying with their minimum count of 2,000 words, so I have now sent it off to Sheila Williams at Asimov's.
