When I was small,
we used to go on family vacations
like most folks do.
the trips where we drove,
my mother would take me
to the library the day before
and I would check out a box
full of books for the trip.
she swears I would read them
all on the way there, and
read them again on the way back.
I tell her I don't remember this.
She tells me it's true.
